General Information about Shingu
Shingu (Shingu) is a middle town within Wakayama prefecture in the Kinki region. Sister cities of Shingu are Santa Cruz in the USA and Natori in Japan.
There is a fishing, commercial and passenger port in the city with yearly approx. 1.984 travelers. Trains do not go here. You need another means of transportation to get to Shingu.
Famous persons connected with Shingu are Haruo Sato (1892 - 1964), Isaku Nishimura (1884 - 1963) and Kume Higashi (1877 - 1969).

If you want to take a hot bath in Shingu, the spa Kumano-river Onsen Satsuki (ç†Šé‡Žå·æ¸©æ³‰ã•ã¤ã) brings you relaxation and is also good for Neuralgia. Discover in the Doro gorge (ç€žå³¡), how the leaves turn from golden yellow to shining red. Start is around the 11/01 and the foliage lasts until 11/30.
